Collecting Magazines

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is a huge brand that includes various magazines, tv shows and products. The most familiar of these, though, is Martha Stewart Living Magazine. The first issue was published in 1990, and I bought my first one in 1995. I was 13. I've saved every issue I've received, and last week, offered them up to give away, all 87 issues. This has much less to do with not wanting them any more, and everything to do with having space in a tiny NYC apartment. Before the recipient came to pick them up, I flipped through a few and thought, maybe I should save these, there's stuff in here I want to do. But then, I thought, no. I wouldn't have gone through these if I hadn't gotten them out to give away, and every thing is online. Just to be sure, I looked up a recipe that sounded good for a cheese spread. Sure enough, it was on MarthaStewart.com, so I pinned it.

Here it is so you can pin it, and hopefully make it, too. I've made it twice this past week. It's delicious with carrot sticks.

And here are my 87 beloved Livings, ready for a new home. Their new owner is just as enthusiastic as I was about them!

Today on her calendar, Martha is attending the James Beard awards. I think this would be such a fun event.  I bet the food is good. Then, she's working on her core. I'll work on my core, too. My apple cores...
